Fans Representatives Meeting 15th March PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 17 March 2010 07:55

The Club was represented by  Amit Bhatia. Ishan Saksena and Gianni Paladini. Supporters groups represented were the Supporters Trust, the LSA, the Friends, the Indys, WATRBS and the OSC.

Amit began the meeting by stressing the desire for an open and honest dialogue.  He said that while the Club could not always meet fans requests, where it was not possible they would at least explain their actions.

It was suggested that the difference between this and previous meetings was that whilst previously he had acted as ‘go between’, we were now speaking directly to the men in charge.

Much of the discussion focussed on the season ticket pricing policy for next season.  Amit and Ishan would like to see the stadium full and attendance is of prime importance. The aim is to sell 10,000 season tickets. The fans reps were asked for comments about how this could be achieved.

Points were made about the cost of season tickets compared to buying tickets from match to match; the banding system; concessions; benefits; the Early Bird Scheme and interest free instalments.  Whilst Ishan said that the exact details of the season ticket prices was yet to be considered he would take the points raised on board.

The issue of access to bars at the ground was raised and we were informed that the betting kiosks will be returning.  The ‘cage’ around Q block and why a replacement season ticket cost £50 was also raised.

There was also a discussion of how the Club could improve communication with fans by restoring the Fans Forums and the Shareholders AGM. Again the Club was willing to consider both possibilities.

The Club were aware of feelings regarding the new badge but there are considerable financial implications to be considered and it was not a priority for the Club. The mascot was mentioned as was the issue of the Youth Academy.

The Club recognise the importance of stability and Neil Warnock will be entirely in charge of team affairs.  Gianni stressed that there would be no meddling in the manager’s job.

Overall this was a very positive and constructive meeting with a feeling that fans were not just being listened to but that actions will hopefully follow.

Welcome to our new Manager PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 01 March 2010 22:58

We are pleased to welcome Neil Warnock as our manager. We hope his appointment will mark an end of the revolving door and a period of much needed stability for QPR.

In the meanwhile we urge fans to get behind our new manager and the squad and ensure that we get the points we need to keep us clear of the relegation zone

Our new Chairman: 'The fans are the real owners of the club'. PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 19 February 2010 22:24

QPR fans had high hopes when Flavio Briatore became the Chairman of QPR and it appeared that a new dawn beckoned. Unfortunately it became increasingly clear that Briatore considered QPR his own personal project. He had no interest in speaking to the supporters trust or independent supporters groups and his reported comments to the media suggested that he did not feel he needed to be accountable to the fans. As a result he became an increasingly unpopular figure and it is sad to say that few will be disappointed that he is no longer chairman.

We hope that the changes within the Board will mark a move to a more ‘open dialogue’ between the Club and the fans which Amit Bhatia endorsed in a recent correspondence to the supporters trust. We wish Ishan Saksena success as our new Chairman and appreciate his statement acknowledging that the fans are the ‘real owners of the club’. We would like to thank Mr. Briatore for his work on behalf of the Club and regret that his tenure as Chairman of the Club did not live up to expectations.

We are looking forward to Amit confirming our request for a meeting and will be seeking further clarification regarding the club statement. In the meanwhile we urge all fans to get behind the lads.
