End of Season Statement

Now a turbulent and deeply disappointing season at Loftus Road is over, QPR1st Supporters Trust is relieved that the club has secured its position in the Championship.

The Trust is dismayed at the team’s decline in form, the managerial instability – which can be traced at least as far back as the departure of Mark Warburton; and the faltering nature in which safety was confirmed.

We fully acknowledge the strictures of FFP and that the owners have put in money; but we are also disturbed by the way the club’s owners lack of public comments appear to be distant from the fans.

Gareth Ainsworth’s recent comments calling for an ‘expectations reset’ suggest a new approach at QPR directly contrary to what the club has been promising for several years. It does nothing to enhance the current climate ahead of a further delayed Season Ticket renewal campaign.

The Trust calls upon the club to openly and honestly review the reasons for the near disaster of the season, clarify its ambitions, and share its plans for change for next season.
