Silence not golden for QPR 1st members

Initial results in from 365 QPR 1st members show that 40 % say we should oppose this deal, 12 % say we should support and 48 % say stay neutral. Clearly there is no mandate to move from QPR 1st’s stated policy of neutrality to one of opposition, but the fact that only 12% support the deal is an indication that the supporters are simply not satisfied with either the quality or quantity of the information released about this bid. There is a huge fear that deals done behind closed doors will only be in the interest of Chris Wright and the bidders and not in the long-term interests of QPR Football Club. more…

Tranmere Update

Over 50 faxes were sent to Tranmere Rovers FC last week regarding their refusal to change the kick off time for tomorrow’s game at Loftus Road and yesterday evening we received a reply from Tranmere Rovers. Basically they outlined

a couple of points from their own perspective asking: a. why our board refused to change the game to the Sunday?

b. why their fans could not have been offered a discount for their inconvenience?

c. why did our Chairman leave it so late in contacting them about the fixture change? (Monday the 15th October when the deadline was apparently Friday 12th)

Fair points but as far as we are aware:

a. Wasps rugby club have a home game on Sunday

b. the whole point of asking them to change the kick off time was as an incentive to encourage more fans to come to Loftus Road on that particular day for fear of loss of revenue so how could QPR have possibly offered discounted tickets

c. 4 years ago, as already mentioned, QPR agreed to a fixture date and time with only days remaining. Why no reciprocation? Interesting comments about our Chairman as well because as far as we are all aware we don’t have a current Chairman!

Thank you to everybody who sent faxes and for the support shown as regards this matter. Enjoy the game tomorrow everyone.

We also ask the club to think about not announcing the England result and playback the video of it after the game in the club bars – thus some much needed revenue for the club via all those pints consumed.
