R.I.P. Ivor Powell

Former QPR player Ivor Powell passed away on Monday night.

Ivor played for QPR for 12 years making 159 appearances in that time which spanned the second world war and won promotion with the club in 1948 claiming the Third division south championship.

Ivor went on to play for  Aston Villa after a record breaking transfer for a half back and then onto Blackpool before moving into club management with Bath city and then coaching. Ivor spent 37 years coaching at the University of Bath and was recorded in the Guinness book of records as the oldest working football coach in 206. Ivor retired 3 years ago at the age of 93 and received an MBE in 2008 for his services to sport a year before retirement.
