QPR1st met Maurice Fitzgerald and Matt Winton – WeAreQPR

QPR1st met Maurice Fitzgerald and Matt Winton on Thursday night, to discuss the plans being made for the launch of WeAreQPR PLC. The meeting was constructive and amicable, with the WAQ pair talking us through their prospectus. The WAQ launch is planned to take place inside the next four weeks and QPR1st will publish details of our meeting this week, with a view to canvassing members opinions on how to react to the prospectus shortly after.

In the meantime, this is another important time for QPR fans. Not only is WAQ being launched, but we are potentially no more than a month away from the Loftus Road PLC extraordinary general meeting. QPR1st expects to represent its members at that and will be seeking their support, plus that of small shareholders, at the meeting.

QPR1st recognises the general mood of optimism, that a corner has been turned and that a new season is beginning, but we ask our members to remember that the club is out of administration, but it is by no means out of trouble. Its management has intimated to us that there is at least another year of very difficult financial trading conditions ahead and, while things may be improving, QPR1st remains committed to its ultimate aim of establishing elected fan representation, not placemen, at board level. We want this so that we can report to QPR fans and small shareholders on the financial and managerial position at the club on a regular basis. We do not want to see the managerial incompetence that took place in 1994-2000 repeated and we aim to do our bit towards ensuring that by being in position to blow the whistle.

You can support us at the EGM by filling in your proxy voting forms, when the company sends them to you and assigning your vote to us. Finally, any financial donations that you can make towards the cost of mailing the small shareholders at the time of the EGM will be gratefully received.
