Light at the end of the tunnel – but QPR fans left still stumbling along in the dark.

QPR 1st representatives spent much of yesterday trying to uncover what truth exists amongst all the rumours, claims, counter-claims and official statements that have (and have not) appeared in the last 72
hours.

Firstly, the official withdrawal of the Wintons bid. Having spoken to Alex Winton yesterday morning and then reading the letter from Harold Winton to Chris Wright, QPR 1st are dismayed with the way that the Wintons and Maurice Fitzgerald appear to have been treated with utter contempt by Chris Wright and his associates.

Regardless of the pro’s and cons of this particular bid, there is no
doubt that the commitment to Queens Park Rangers by those that headed it up is beyond question. Much time and effort, as well as money expended in bringing the bid to a point where it seems it was under serious consideration by Chris Wright, was surely worthy of more than the unprofessional way it was seemingly disregarded.

This, it appears, as soon as the possibility materialised that Chris
Wright might get more than he was prepared to accept. We shall be asking Chris Wright to give a public explanation regarding his actions on Friday 15 March towards this consortium.

Secondly, we have been in contact with Brian Melzack to put our
questions to him regarding his bid and its current status. Brian Melzack stated that although he was not in a position to answer our questions at the present time, he expected that an official statement from his consortium could be expected in the very near future. Our understanding of this is that a statement will be forthcoming in a matter of days, rather than weeks.

Thirdly, many of you will have seen the posting on the official messageboard by Simon Elson and his subsequent exchanges on some of the internet messageboards. We have been in touch via email with Simon Elson and it would appear that although no official bid for the club has been put forward from him, he has put forward a proposition to Chris Wright that may turn into something more significant in the future. We will endeavour to maintain contact with Simon Elson and hopefully
discover more about this proposition.

On a final point we urge the LSA Committee to respond to our requests to meet and sort out any outstanding grievances so that QPR supporters can form a united front against those that seek to divide us and in so doing weaken the impact of any protest action that may become necessary in the coming days and weeks.
