Terry Venables R.I.P

QPR1st Supporters’ Trust mourns the loss of Terry Venables, an absolute giant in the history of QPR. A great coach, a great player, and almost an owner of the club.
His arrival in 1969 heralded the second wave of the Jim Gregory years and the great team of the 70s. Although Gordon Jago was the manager, Venables undoubtedly had a huge influence on the development of that group of players and what they achieved.
When he returned to the club as manager he built a skillful side that restored us to the First Division, qualified for Europe and, of course, took us to the FA Cup Final. It was a sad day when he left the club for an underachieving Barcelona.
We mourned the loss of Terry then. We mourn the loss of Terry today. Condolences to Terry’s family and friends.
