QPR 1st Supporters’ Trust would like to thank the club for the excellent Fans Forum that was held on Monday night (18/9/23).
The Trust has been asking for QPR’s owners to be more available to talk to fans and we are delighted that this was achieved. Ruben Gnanalingam and Amit Bhatia answered fans questions in a clear and straightforward manner. We finally got some insight into their reasons for supporting the club. We look forward to hearing from board members regularly in the future.
The contributions from Lee Hoos, and Gareth Ainsworth were welcome as were contributions from Director of Performance Ben Williams and Craig Stewart from the club’s catering contractors Elior UK. Ben’s talk was particularly illuminating as he explained his background in sports science and his approach to player fitness. The good news this season is that injuries are much reduced over recent seasons.
We do note that there was no mention of Tony Fernandes leaving the board, or Les Ferdinand leaving as Director of Football. Amit Bhatia confirmed that the club was seeking a replacement of Les.
The feeling of the meeting was that it was a great success. We hope it results in more regular communication from the board. This will avoid criticism of them being unengaged.
