Richard Thompson and Chris Wright

QPR1st notes that, according to the latest question and answer session with chief executive David Davies (www.qpr.co.uk), majority shareholder Chris Wright and former-owner Richard Thompson have had discussions. He said, “Richard Thompson and Chris Wright have recently spoken directly and as a result of their conversation, Richard is considering his position. Until such time as Richard Thompson comes back to the company, there is nothing more to report”.

As a consequence QPR1st will reopen contacts with Mr Thompson’s representatives, asking how his bid will be financed, what working capital the club will have moving forward if the bid succeeds, what are Mr Thompson’s views on QPR1st’s proposals for stewardship of the ground by trustees and what provision is being made for supporter participation in the running of QPR.

QPR1st also notes Mr Davies’ comments on the Melzack consortium’s bid, “They have not been able to complete the deal and as a result we are out of the period of exclusivity and actively seeking other bidders. However, if they came back to the table and were able to complete the deal, it would be unwise to ignore it. We believe they are still trying to complete the deal, but we’ve had no recent contact”.

Emailing Chris Wright

It has been brought to our attention by the club that Chris Wright has been receiving a number of emails from supporters recently.

Whilst QPR 1st are delighted that supporters are, on their own initiative, letting Chris Wright know in no uncertain terms what they think of the current situation concerning the club, debts and any potential sale it has been pointed out to us by the club that some of the correspondence received by Mr Wright from supporters has been extremely abusive and/or potentially slanderous.

We would ask all supporters that are considering sending an email to Mr Wright to do so in such a way that will avoid such criticism being levelled at supporters. A polite letter making your points is likely to be more constructive than an abusive one at this crucial point in the clubs history.

Boxing Day travel problems

Supporters who usually travel by train to Loftus Road from Surrey, Sussex and the Thames Valley corridor face a challenge to get to the Boxing Day game against Brighton as do Brightons traveling support, this is due to planned closures to parts of the rail network on that day. QPR 1st have written a letter of protest which you can view here.
