After speculation emerged about the role of QPR chief executive David Davies in the change of ownership at Notts County, we wrote to him to ask him about the work he had done. He explained in a telephone conversation yeesterday that he had helped two of his friends to put their bid for the club together. He did this in his own time and no fee was charged. The work did not get in the way of his commitments to QPR and David told us that he hopes that his efforts will help Notts County to secure its future.
